The April 2003 Home Town Buffet Breakfast, Hemet.
This marks the clubs first time to use this facility to stage a club sponsered breakfast.  48 attended, including local hams, and a number of our friends from the CLARA repeater area.
HomeTown Buffet in West Hemet. All those vehices belong to hams.  Isn't that odd?
This is a short time past 8:00 AM and many have already arrived and are enjoying a fine breakfast.
One of the many tables of good friends and good food.  Club Secretary Manny, KK6DS looking this way between bites.
At this table we find CLARA members enjoying the menu items offered. This was a nice treat having our CLARA friends join us for this special event.
HomeTown Buffet does not provide a breakfast menu to the public, but does cater to special groups and clubs on request and approval.  We will hold these breakfast events on the EVEN numbered months, always from 8:00 to 10:00 AM.
The Buffet opens to the public about 11:00 AM
Two young ladies "watching their hubbies" sign in our guests.  Eleanor McHenry on the left, and Esther Benson on the right.
SEE!  With all that money in front of them, their wives (in back) were keeping an eye on them.  Rod McHenry N6CG on the left and Bob Benson KE6FDF on the right, 2 of our clubs Directors.
Our menu this morning. Eggs, ham, bacon, potatoe cakes, sausage, mashed potatoes, french toast, pancakes and a few other items.  We were told the menu will "increase" next time.
Kenny WA6LUH getting a few menu items. We understand this particular section will be increased to a salad bar with many more choices next time.
Just another shot of happy hams having a happy time.
Getting close to being finished and ready for the next event.
Club President Ron WA6AZN.  Although he was taking most of the photos, Dick came over and took his camera to catch this photo.
Bear, KG6FVI announcing the video to be shown, which was interesting & informative covering some of the aspects of the 9-11 disaster and the involvement of the Salvation Army.
Jim, KF6WCL (standing with mic) just prior to the video, introduces the club officers, and thanks everyone for attendng.  Following the video, the raffle will be held.
With the video finished and time beginning to run out, Bear KG6FVI shows off some of the raffle items.  There were a number of items from a mixture of coax fittings, to a small dummy load, a mobile whip antenna, book, a "J"-Pole 2 meter antenna and a Yaesu 5200 dual band mobile.
One of the early winners was Richard, W4JCI, popular on both the CLARA and Hemet machines.  (Now that's quite a string of tickets Richard. (thanks for the donation!)
Another CLARA winner was Melanie with her husband David.
(KF6GWV & N6IDF) Now that's a happy smile we see there.  Most of the CLARA hams needed to not only "get up early", but had to drive around 65 or 70 mile (or more?) to get here in time.  Remember the 91 freeway??  This particular day a small plane landed on the freeway not long after the group arrived.  Talk about "luck!"
The grand prize winner of the Yaesu 5200 (WITH instruction manual) presented to George N6VNI from the CLARA group.  Does he look happy about this??  In fact, there are a LOT of smiling faces in this "happy" photo.  Congrats George.
With the final raffle prize it was time to finish up, though "that" took another 45 minues.  You know how these hams yak and yak.  Err, don't they call that just having a QSO?

Special thanks to all those who came to our first time event, and please come back.  Remember, the EVEN numbered months, first saturday, 8 to 10 AM.

Special thanks to the following 3 hams who did most of the work for this event with the approval of the board of directors.

Jim Brown, KF6WCL, club treasurer.
Barry Clay, KG6FVI, board of directors.
Kenny Shanefield, WA6LUH, club Vice President.

and these two for always being in there to handle sign-ins, and TAKE your money, not to mention a million other things they do for all of us.

Rod McHenry, N6CG, board of directors.
Bob Benson, KE6FDF, board of directors.
